I am going to be a junior in high school this coming year. I don't have a great idea of exactly what I want to do for my college major and want to start getting some ideas. Here's some info:
I like English and History and like to write. I hate math and so far science isn't very interesting. I love sports and I play. I'm in the top15 of my class of 350. Any direction would be great! Thanks.

Wow, we sound so much alike! I love English and History, but not math and science, and I'm going to be a junior next year too!
Well, you could major in English...and then something else too--double major in English and History, perhaps.

international studies = a LOT of reading and writing about history and current events in the world

sports are very important to me too. Thanks for the ideas. Any more input would be great!

If you love history and English, I'd actually recommend a humanities major. Something like anthropology or art history, perhaps? Classics? Or if you're into the writing aspect of English, creative writing or journalism? Then there's always education...

One thing to keep in mind (re: corbis): while IR is fun, it's strongly based in the modern social sciences - you wouldn't be taking more than a couple English and history classes. It's more oriented around political science, economics, and foreign governments.

Any other ideas?

i second international studies

IR is also a lot of foreign language, so keep that in mind.

I would just look for schools with good humanities departments with a lot of different majors available, decide when you get to college.

I have similar interests...I'm going with international relations.

What exactly does an international studies major do and what would it lead to? Career ideas could be helpful too. Thanks!

I think this is equivalent to IR:
