My daughter would like to find a MT song that would appeal to a non MT high school crowd of about 1,000. Does anyone have ideas for a song that might work?

Thanks!

Can you give us more specifics? For instance, what kind of gathering is it? What is your daughter's voice part and range?

She is a mezzo-soprano. Her range varies from a low A to about a high C (2 1/2 octaves)
She is singing for a talent show-case type of event at her high school. The last time she did "opera" it did not go over well. We would like something a little lighter/fun that more people could relate to.

My D got a huge response out of "Life with Harold" from THE FULL MONTY from a similar audience. The guys dubbed it "beasty" which I think is a complement. It is a great mezzo belt for a ham with a lot of acting/stage pressence.

"Shy" from Once Upon a Mattress is another belty one that appeals to a "non-MT" type audience.

DD got a good response with Diva's Lament from Spamalot. (Whatever Happened to My Part).

Thanks for the great suggestions! D has never really acted on stage so something without too much acting would be good. We will go to you tube to check them out!
