In connection with FASFA, I know GU requires an IDOC submission… by tomorrow (AHHH!). My parents didn’t finish their 2014 tax return, so is it possible that I can upload the 2013 federal tax return, or does it have to be 2014?
It must be the 2014 tax return. I would suggest you contact G-town Fin aid and ask their advice. Also, urge your parents to complete their return asap. You will also need the return filed if you need to verify your FAFSA info !
Last I saw, IDOC was behind 7-10 days, if Georgetown is your only IDOC school maybe you can get it to them directly and save the college board delay.
IDOC has a severe backlog; expect 14 days to clear. Calling them will be held for at least an hour. Their email is not accepting inquiry either (direct you to call). Peace of mind, the Fin Offices I approached all said that they knew the situation. According to one post, worst case scenario is a preliminary award will be given pending on the verified document. So try to ask if you can send/fax/email the stuff to them directly even they are IDOC colleges. Hope it helps.
I have contacted the financial aid office and they said the deadline was a “soft deadline” so there’s no need to worry but you should get your info in asap
My son is at a different competitive school that also requires IDOC, but I contacted the FA office about it once, and they said they mostly don’t even look at IDOC. I don’t directly know about Georgetown, though.
