Idoc request = RD admission accepted?

Has anyone seen an idoc request from Vanderbilt? Do you think you can read anything into admission decision from this?

Where was this located? Via email?

When I log into idoc website Vanderbilt still has not requested information for Fiancial Aid. Has anyone else who is awaiting decision noticed a request?

I got an email on March 7th regarding my idoc, but I’m not sure that means anything.

Based on the Vandy aid website, the IDOC is only requested if and when you are admitted. I applied to Vanderbilt and am pretty qualified, but have not seen anything about the IDOC

I’m confused about the purpose of this thread, since nobody has received anything IDOC-related from Vanderbilt, correct? If somebody had, then yeah it might be an indicator of admission. But it hasn’t happened…

The purpose was to see if anyone else had received an idoc request because I was wondering if it was an indication that I was not accepted since I had not.

not sure if its the same but i got this email

We have received a copy of the 2015 federal tax return which does not come directly to our office. Please see the snip it below taken from our website.
If you are accepted for admission, mail to IDOC (College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service) signed copies of your and your parents’ 2015 Federal Income Tax Returns, Schedules, and W-2 forms, along with any corporate and partnership returns that were submitted to the IRS. If you and/or your parent(s) are not required to file a 2015 Federal Income Tax Return, please download and complete the appropriate Non-Filer Form from the IDOC website. Non-Filer forms, along with all other tax documents, must be sent to IDOC. DO NOT SEND TAX RETURN DOCUMENTS TO OUR OFFICE. All tax returns received in our office will be shredded.
Instructions for Submitting Documents to IDOC: If you are accepted for admission, you will receive a separate email from the IDOC Service, providing instructions on how to submit 2015 federal tax forms. Mail your tax return packet directly to IDOC. If multiple schools to which you are applying participate in IDOC, you only need to submit the information to IDOC once. This information will be sent to all participating schools.

I haven’t received one…is this an indication that I didn’t get accepted?

Relax, people. The OP was posing a hypothetical. There is NO evidence to indicate that accepted RD students will have received an IDOC request. The absence of one, at this point, is an indication of absolutely nothing.

I was notified early of my decision ( I applied RD) via MOSAIC and Vanderbilt hasn’t requested any IDOC documents from me yet. So, like ShouldBeWorking said, there is no reason to worry! : )

I was accepted RD last year(no mosaic), and I did not receive any thing like this before my acceptance.

I was sent a request for IDOC by Vanderbilt and a couple other schools.

My D received this E-mail when she asked about her FAFSA not showing up in MyAppVu back in mid January (she filed it very early). The response include the below:

Instructions for Submitting Documents to IDOC: If you are accepted for admission, you will receive a separate email from the IDOC Service, providing instructions on how to submit 2015 federal tax forms b** . Upload or mail your tax return packet directly to IDOC. If multiple schools to which you are applying participate in IDOC, you only need to submit the information to IDOC once. This information will be sent to all participating schools.

I think there are two key things here 1) ED-I and ED-II receive requests for IDOC early, RD might receive IDOC requests as late as April 1 and 2) if you do IDOC for another school “you only need to submit the information to IDOC once. This information will be sent to all participating schools” - once can only guess if they send a request for documents that they already received from another schools request - I would imagine not.

In addition I just found this at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/1851601-official-rd-2020-thread-p37.html

The absence of an IDOC email means nothing, if you (or your parents) already uploaded the information for other schools that use the service such as Notre Dame, Duke or Stanford. I spoke directly to IDOC and they told me that schools like Vanderbilt will access what is already in there, after an applicant is accepted.
