I know all the Ivy’s require the IDOC, but only certain schools requested my docs. Does that mean that they’re highly considering me? Cornell, Columbia, and Dartmouth all requested my docs and Brown did not, so can I assume that Brown has decided to reject me?
I also interviewed with all of them.
I have this exact same question and can’t seem to find the answer anywhere…
Brown’s website says that they only request IDOC from some families if they need additional information to complete their fin aid estimate.
@whitespace Any word on Yale, Duke, or Vanderbilt and whether or not they require these forms?
@collegebound1915 Duke requested the IDOC forms for my son.
I can’t find the answer anywhere for this question, but I heard that it costs the colleges money to request IDOCS per student so I would think they would only request them if they’re interested? @collegebound1915 @whitespace @mumz14
Certain universities use the IDOC system and others simply do not.
My D applied to Stanford and Reed who both use IDOC. She also applied to Occidental and a couple state schools - none of which use the IDOC system.
Reed requested additional information about a week before all the documents were due. (I had uploaded all the requested info a week or so before that request came through.) I contacted the FA office at Reed and they wanted me to email a copy of a document with my D’s SS#'s on it. I refused as I was concerned about that information going through unsecured channels. The office said they needed it and that I could blot out the SS#. I decided not to send it that way, but did get it uploaded to IDOC and accepted by the system ahead of the deadline.
Your post makes me think that this may be a good sign for the coming week which is the anticipated time for RD admission notifications.
Duke requested more information from me and I don’t consider myself a super great candidate so I doubt it’s a way of saying you’re likely. I feel people really read into things, and while it’d be nice (trust me, I’d do a lot for a Duke likely letter) I just think it’s a formality created by whatever system they operate on.
But that being said, hopefully I’m wrong!
Stanford requested additional information from me when I was applying to colleges. I was not admitted.
