Does anyone have a true answer as to how long it will take our docs to be uploaded by the college board as they are very behind and the date on the college board site just bumps out by a day, every day?!?! IDOC is simply another way the college board gets rich. The CSS profile is close to fafsa but not free. My son just missed a deadline due to this. The College board claims the date submitted will be used by the school not the date processed and you wont be penalized but thats not so. I have a good friend that works in finacial aid and though they claim that they wont hold IDOC’s tardiness against students when the money is gone its gone and they start giving day one as they want the process over!
IDOC takes at least two weeks. CB has huge backlog. I uploaded five pdf files on 2/17; not until this morning (3/4) had them been processed. It took me one hour on the line to get reach of their representative who know nothing and quite rude. Email them does not work; no reply at all. Their email website stated that it does not work (at least for the last two days) and asked us to call. I contacted financial offices and they are aware of the situation. Be patient and ask them if they allow you to email to them directly. I believe once the FAFSA is verified by IRS, financial offices got most of the critical info they need. Good luck.
I had same rude call experience and non response via email. Now, you call, get placed on hold only to get disconnected, three times this has happened so far. How can they get away with such horrid customer service??? Wish schools would simply stop using them, not worth the hardships and cost to families, adds to an already stressfull process.
Well WE aren’t idoc’s clients, the colleges are. WE don’t pay for idoc, they do. We pay for the profile, that’s it.
So the colleges will have to be the ones to complain and force a change for next year. They basically outsource their document handling to the CB so they don’t have to deal with it. If docs are uploaded on time but not processed, that’s really between the CB and the colleges.
That said, I called all of D’s schools’ financial aid offices and offered to send docs directly and a few said please do, a few said they’d prefer to wait for idoc.
I am assuming 3 weeks backlog minimum. We have an issue in that we need student’s signature on his forms. Waiting for spring break.
