Filing Date, IDOC, Help with Dates??

Hello all, my D has already submitted both her CSS Profile and FAFSA all before the deadlines of her schools. However, some schools ask for the IDOC (which asks for 2013 taxes, and we just finished filing those...) We are hoping to submit everything in by this weekend, but that will be more than 20 days past most schools March 2nd deadline. Are we okay here? We are also filing the for the non-custodial CSS waiver for some schools, but they all need 2013 tax info to complete. We've been hustling, and I've haggled my accountant, but these deadlines just come up too dang fast. Is she at risk for getting less financial aid, or even not being able to be considered because we submited the 2013 suppplemental tax returns late?

Any information would help guys, pretty worried right now.

We’re in the same boat. We completed our CSS Profile and FAFSA in early January. Our “deadline” for submission of 2013 taxes through IDOC was February 15, which was completely ridiculous since brokerage houses didn’t even have to mail their statements until February 18. Then we got this little gem from a national university:

We cannot guarantee (…) need-based grant funding to students who do not submit the required financial aid documents by the March 1 deadline. Students who do not receive grant funding at the time of admission are not provided need-based institutional grant funding in the freshman or future years. Do not jeopardize your chances to receive (…) need-based assistance that you may need as a (…) undergraduate.

I called this university to tell them there was NO WAY we were going to be able to meet the IDOC deadline, and they admitted it was a “soft” deadline and to just submit as soon as possible. I sent our packet on 3/24, which was the earliest I could possibly do it. Time will tell if we’re punished for it.

In the end it may all be a waste of time, paper, and money. So far both schools that have required IDOC have rejected or wait listed my son anyway, with two more decisions coming in today.
