If Did terribly frosh/soph yr. can I still get into a good school?

So freshman and sophomore year I got mostly Bs in mostly honors classes. I only got like 3 A's and handful of C's.

This past year Junior year I turned it around and got straight A's except for a B in AP English.

I know these grades aren't terrible but I want to go to the really good schools, Rice, Duke, Wash U, Emory, UVA (OOS), UNC (OOS), vanderbilt. And other schools like that.

My extra curriculars also arent very good. I have no awards or leadership roles because regardless of how I try I am mediocre-ly smart and hoplessly clumsy and don't really have any talents.

Do admissions officers look at these trends? Did I already ruin it for myself?

EDIT: I got a 31 on my ACT, but im taking it again cuz I need the writing

What do you do in your spare time? Even gaming/watching TV could be a source of inspiration. For example, I like to play video games, and because of my interest in Skyrim, I made mods out of it, and they have nice download counts, and that could be a good EC.

I did soccer for 2 years, but I was a bench warmer. I did scholastic bowl for 3 years, but again I was a bench warmer. I’m in the band but I’m not very good although I spend alot of my time there. I got cut from the tennis team twice. I got rejected from NHS. I did manage to get inducted into Tri-m (audition based music honor society).

I feel like those ECs aren’t really particularly impressive…

I read about the admissions decisions on this forum and there are people with much better stats then me, a bunch of ECs, awards and accomplishments. My lack of anything impressive as well as my lackluster grades makes me feel like I have no chance whatsoever

What is your unweighted GPA at this point? To be honest if you have <3.5 and have no excuse for the GPA they are going to be some major reaches.

The schools you listed are all high reaches right now. If you got remarkable test scores (2300+ SAT) , then you’d have a much better chance.

Your GPA should be good, providing that your sophomore year wen’t okay. Your EC’s will definitely hurt you as it is your senior year next year. Your ACT isn’t too stellar either, 31 is on par with the admitted students of those schools. Being said, Rice, Duke, Washington and Vanderbilt are out of question.

Lower your hopes and aim for reputable state schools, like the mid-level UC system.
