If I could change one thing....

Like the hundreds of other people here, I would change my GPA.
I did alright freshmen year all As/A-s, but sophmore and junior year classes were harder. So had I gotten straight As freshmen year, my GPA would've been better.
And I definitely agree on the one semester screwing you over. Second semester my junior year was horrible. Emotionally, socially (friends), and domestically (family). Horrible. And I really got screw over.
But moreso the GPA. If I had a really strong GPA, I would be a strong applicant to many toptier schools. Or at least second to toptier. Boo.

A week ago, I would have been whining about my SAT scores, and how they were average, and not good enough for Yale. After all, a 650 and a 720 are less than stellar. But now, in hindsight, all I have to say is that I wouldn't change a thing. I got into Yale in spite of that, and all I have to say is stop worrying about things that are insignificant, and focus on other things. Instead of taking the SATs five times to get from a 2200 to a 2300, do something else that is much more productive and constructive (my SAT Is were 2180 by the way).

I wouldn't change a thing. I guess my SAT score is not incredible, but nonetheless- 1 application ed, 1 Acceptance. Done.

i would definitely like a higher GPA.
i thought i tried my hardest but i always endedu p with high B's that weren't good enough to be As. and my school doesn't count B+s into the system so all the Bs are equal.
....

I would erase my freshman year from existence, that's what I'd do. My GPA immediately gets 1.5 points higher after that. Also, I probably would have been more attentive in Alg 2; its my one C (darn it).

If I could take it all back... I think I would just simply not care about getting into the 'elite' schools! that would make high school so much easier.

Oh my god, I almost failed two classes in high school. I was sooo lazy.

ECs I would have taken a sport in 9th grade!

GPA
I decided to seriously work my junior year.

I'm just a juinor and I haven't taken the sat or act yet but I would say my ecs
I really only have two real ones (not clubs I occasionally attend at lunch) and only have a leadership position in one of them ( although the other is an out of school sport and there are no leadership positions

I would change my G.P.A... and CLASS RANK.
It's just so disappointing, because it really DOESNT reflect how hard I have worked. Two or three totally borderline B+'s ... taking a lot of AP courses though. & My class is really competitive, everyone wants to get into an Ivy, and its usually not like that at my school... its usually just a few people from each class want to go to an Ivy and the rest are just fine with a state univeristy or something else... so I am going to end up with a higher gpa than kids from other classes... but they will be in the top five percent and I won't. A bit upsetting.

SATs.. my writing was way low but I was too lazy to retake because my M/CR score was good..

I wish I could've studied a bit harder for the SAT I/II's. But I guess what's done is done right?

My SAT 1/SAT 2 scores. I wish I could bring up my SAT score to 2000+.

Apart from that everything else in my application is just fine!

I would change GPA first as its 2.79, and then (I wouldn't change my EC's, I'd just put more years into them). My SAT's are decent.

Now that I sent in all my stuff...I wish I could change my Critical Reading score (560).

Yes, me too! (570)

If I had it to do over again, I'd have applied to more reaches and less safeties (and I'd have worked harder over the summer). If I had it to do over again, here's what my list would be:
Harvard
Penn
Brown
Columbia
Duke
NYU
UNC-Chapel Hill
Notre Dame
Emory
East Carolina
NC State

Here's what my list ended up being:
Columbia
Duke
Notre Dame
Emory
UNC-Chapel Hill
East Carolina
Florida State
NC State

my gpa =[ .........

By and far my ECs: I would have picked up a sport (prolly tennis cus' I play out of school club) and I would have been far more dedicated to the piano. Also, I guess I would have worked harder to score high on regional/state/national competitions and such. I would have just worked harder in general I guess.
