GPA - I'm so ticked at myself. I look back on freshman and sophomore year and there are some classes that in hindsight I think I could have gotten higher grades in (I had a 3.5 GPA at the end of sophomore year, so I didn't do too bad) and now it's coming back to bite me. No one ever told me that one quiz could really ruin my GPA (it did - long story).

I'd love a 2400.

me too 10chars

So it seems that most people would change their GPA/rank and I'm worried about mine. I'm a junior in high school and I have straight A's except for one A- freshman year, but I think AP physics is going to kill my GPA becuase I will probably get a B or B+. I want to be a biomedical engineer (MIT is my dream school) but I'm afraid I won't get in because I have bad grades in physics. So my question is, how much does your GPA matter? Especially since my school doesn't weigh my GPA, my class rank is also really low.

I would have changed my GPA, as most people would have.

However, I'm extremely regretful of where I applied to. I was arrogant and applied to many schools that I now think I will get denied from. I applied ED to an Ivy and was deferred. However, now that it has been 3 or 4 months, I wish I had applied ED to a different, lesser known school. I probably would have been accepted. When I was in the whole application process, prestige influenced me much more than academics or other factors. Eh, you live and learn right?

If I could just have studied for the SAT, I would have been much better off and not stressing nearly this much...

SAT scores. My scores shot my dreams out of the sky, lol. I had everything going to for me..sigh

I voted extra-curriculars, although I wish I could change one section score on the SATs as well. I don't think that my ECs are bad, but they aren't that great either...

I would have liked to change both my SAt score and should have applied to more schools (I applied only to 4 schools!)

My ECs are definitely what I'd change. All I do is debating, three sports (intramural I expect), a couple of clubs, some charity work and I think thats it. No job or internship yet (Still only entering sophomore) and haven't started any clubs or done something inspirational. Just stuff that every Harvard graduate has done and way more. I'm trying to change that through more hands-on charity and a job so hopefully it all works out.

I would've applied to more schools, namely Columbia, Dartmouth, Rice, Stanford, and finished my Vanderbilt application.

Extracurriculars
Didnt see how important they were

I can't help but think if I had studied a bit more for some of my tests or tried a bit harder, I would probably have perfect grades.

I'm in line to be the salutatorian of my class, so my GPA is great. ECs are good, I work a lot, class treasurer, etc. So definitely ACT scores. Right now I have a 29 but a 32 would be ideal. Hopefully I can get that elusive 31-32 in Sept/Oct.

Change french and sophomore grades

You forgot to put "All of the above."

I took two subjects on Sat II while most of my competitors took 3. I'll try this time round.

So this poll does not really apply to me, considering that I am only about to start my junior year in high school. But I do wish that I could change my grades and GPA. Chemistry was the hardest subject for me last year, and so I used that as an excuse not to try as hard... I ended up getting a 62 on my final, and I know that will come to bite my rear later.

Extracurriculars. I thought I did a ton of them, but there are people doing stuff I never have hear of, and I probably should have done more (and would have now that I'm aware of the possibilities).

Ironically I put way less time into my grades (almost none) and the SAT (none but taking it) but those turned out fine so even though I intend to study much harder this year I don't need to change them.

B's don't make you less of an amazing person. =]
