I have a question: Will UCLA revoke my accepted admission if I don’t send them IGETC with my transcripts? I MIGHT have put ‘yes’ on IGETC certified on UC application…
You should contact them ASAP. Im not going to speculate about what they will do, but look at your contract, most likely it has a protion that has to do with igetc on it. How far are you from completing it?
@Rey22David Well I’m a CSU transfer and I completed my GEs while at CSU. I’m at a CC just for this semester completing my prerequisites for my major. And planning not to send IGETC. I’m just worried about the contract because I MAY have checked the IGETC box on UC Application. I am transferring to UCLA this Fall.
yes they will probably revoke your admission if you don’t have IGETC completed
UPDATE: I called UCLA and they checked my application. They stated that I did not ‘check’ the IGETC certification box. Therefore, the IGETC agreement does not apply to me.
At least for my UCLA agreement, the only mention of IGETC is here: “If you are transferring from a California community college or a University of California campus and will complete IGETC or UC Reciprocity, respectively, submit your official certification by September 1, 2016.” This deadline suggests (especially considering that fall 2015 transcripts are due June 1st and spring 2016 transcripts are due July 1st) that they care about whether you will complete the IGETC at all (they still probably want it complete before the summer though, unless you want to deal with partial IGETC certification), instead of when you complete it. Still, it kind of sucks that the UC application did not have an checkbox for completing it in the spring.
@testingthis Thanks for all your feedback. I probably didn’t complete it since I am transferring from a CSU. However, for me, I couldn’t care less about the benefit given by IGETC anyways. I am content with taking more classes at UCLA. So I guess you could say they accepted me with a ‘partial’ IGETC certification.
