So i took classes at a CSU for my first year of college and this year i took classes at a CC. When i looked over my CSU transcript with my counselor at the CC, she said that my philosophy class "PROBABLY" satisfied my last humanities requirement but that she ultimately wasn't sure.

Now i'm wondering, if when i go to get my igetc certified, and whoever is certifying it decides that that philosophy class does not satisfy my last humanities requirement and thus doesn't certify my igetc, will UCSD rescind my admission? What's partial IGETC? Would I be able to finish that requirement over the summer?

Most community colleges have a rubric of the classes that satisfy IGETC. Just take a look at your CC’s website. You must finish IGETC by the spring prior to transfer. There is not partial credit, it is all or nothing. There is a strong possibility that UCSD could revoke your admission if you don’t complete IGETC.

Some counselor.

Haven’t you tried looking at assist?

Yes, there is such a thing as partial IGETC.

<a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

Partial credit
Students who do not complete IGETC before transferring will be required to satisfy the specific lower-division general education/breadth requirements of the UC college or school they attend. However, California community colleges may grant partial certification of IGETC to students who are missing no more than two requirements. Students submitting partial IGETC certification should complete the missing requirements at either UC or a California community college as designated by their department. Students who have been granted partial IGETC certification should not return to the community college for a full certification.

If in your application you stated you would have IGETC completed by the time of your intended transfer, there could be a possibility of having your admission rescended if you were to only obtain a “partial IGETC certification”. Like I said, it is only a possibility, and your counseler may determine it does not affect your admission status, which is why you should apply for the partial certification if the full IGETC certification is not available to you.

wow some conflicting responses here.

@music1990 assist tells you what CSU classes fulfill IGETC for the UC?

Oh sorry, I forgot about that part. It probably doesn’t work that way.
