I heard that if you took AP Credits, even 5s would only be converted into 3.0s when they calculate your GPA. Is that true?

Not true, at least at NYU. Credits received through AP scores of 4 or 5 are not in any way calculated into your GPA. Scores below 4 do not qualify to receive credit.

^ actually some 3’s do count, but only a select few and not all schools count them. If your wondering how an AP class grade will affect your college grades, it won’t. If you get credit for a 5 say in History, it’s going to show up as fulfilled/credit/ or something like that. Every school does it different, but it should not calculate into your actual GPA.
