am I definitely rejected?

I was under the impression that those are for people that only get likely letters or early acceptances, so I doubt it, but I could be wrong.

I'm Indian and didn't get invited either, if that makes you feel better, but then again, Vandy is a reach for me lol. But I wouldn't worry about it unless someone tells you otherwise.

i think the diversity weekend thing is mainly (if not only) for Blacks and hispanics. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm Indian and I didn't get invited :(

But I don't know, I saw a lot of Asians who were invited (don't know if they were specifically Indian)

It is not only for Blacks and Hispanics. I'm Indian, and I was invited to MOSAIC.

lol im indian too and did not get invited...this whole waiting for decisions process is terrible

yo, can someone who was admitted last year without MOSAIC or whatever give input?

Being a minority will not guarantee admission but it gives you a huge push. If you didn't get invited to MOSAIC it doesn't really mean anything because they can only invite so many people. I went to MOSAIC last year and I was probably invited because I was from the Northeast and was a minority (two birds with one stone).

I know people who got in last year without MOSAIC. If you didn't get invited, it's not a big deal at all. Like someone said earlier, they can only invite so many. No worries.

ok heres how it works. the school tries to pick people who have not yet visited the school when selecting students for MOSAIC. there are tons of people who had already visited so the school wanted some of the ones who hadnt to come down. so maybe that was a factor. *this is what i was told when i asked who they asked to come and who they didnt.

wow, lot of opinions. I was invited to MOSAIC when i entered. however, there is a limited number of spots. I don't hand pick the kids but my assumption is they select the first 100 to 150 extremely qualified minority applicants. Therefore, while those students are accepted, nobody else hears from the school until after the mail is sent out at the end of March. Whether you're Indian, African American, Asian, Hispanic, doesn't matter. They can only select the 100 or so kids to come in for the free weekend. Not getting in doesn't mean a thing and being a minority will still help you in the regular admission process.

middle eastern (lebanese)=not invited to mosaic

i'm not even sure if i count as a minority, but i'm light brown lol

Korean and got in. didn't go cuz of time restraints.

there's a girl on my floor this year and she was talking about how she didn't get an invitation to mosiac. she is also indian and she ended up getting some merit money to vandy too. so don't worry!

no, it's no indication on whether or not you've been accepted/rejected already. no worries.

great that is really good to hear

It definitely doesn't mean anything. I'm Indian and I didn't get invited to MOSAIC, but I just found out I got 3/4 tuition today.

There is no correlation between financial aid and MOSAIC...

I know but getting money means that I got in...

I was invited to MOSAIC (I'm black) and there were some Indian people there. Not a lot though. A majority of the people were black and hispanic, and then probably more eastern asians (after blacks and hispanics). Although I wouldn't worry. I don't think because you didn't get invited to MOSAIC means that you aren't accepted.

Also, someone posted earlier that they can only invite around 100 for free to the diversity weekends....well MOSAIC wasn't free. You could've gotten a reimbursement but only up to $100 (unless there were special circumstances). Also, there were over 100 people there (I think between 150-170) but they told us that we were one of the smallest groups. The group the year before had twice as many people.
