if my mom is a profesor at a different PSU campus would that help my chances...

at university park? shes interviewing for a job at a PSU campus soon. i asked her this and she doesn't know so i figured someone here might know.

oui.......

If she gets the job, you'll get 75% off tuition. I'm not sure how it impacts chances, though.

I believe the 75% tuition is "phased in". Year 1 you'd get about a third, I believe; year 2 - 50% ... or something like this. And UP would be your "branch" so yes you'd have an advantage. Getting dorm space might add to the adventure though. Good luck to Mom, son.

Pig, I don't understand why UP would be the branch. Also, DH is a U employee and I have never heard of this "phase-in". Can you point me to further info?

As I said, "I believe" ... this is the way it was done in past years, but could be changed now. HR can confirm or correct. Pitt does same. Re: the branch, that assumes, perhaps incorrectly, that you'd be living in, around SC. That may be incorrect assumption.

DH has been a faculty member for 18 years; many friends are faculty and staff with children at the U. If this were true, I think I might have heard it.

OP said mother was applying at a different PSU campus.

As I say, it's been awhile, but this was the case some years back. Same for spousal tuition remission grants. Whoops, didn't see that mom was looking @ a campus. No idea if that can impact UP admissability. Perhaps if strings are available and pullable.
