On the dartmouth FA page, it states it wants the 2009 tax form, but the problem is my parents can't get it until april (btw, we are chinese living the canada), so do i send the 2008 one instead?

Call the FA dept and ask directly. It’s too important to screw around with.

It is possible that they will want your family to submit an estimated return by the deadline. It is standard practice for people to be asked to submit their actual return after the FA award is made–if you are accepted, that is–to verify the need/award.

You really should try to adhere to the deadline. this will be the only year where your parents will have to file their taxes “early”.

By the time your family files taxes in April, admissions and financial aid decisions will already have been made. So should you receive an admission decision from Dartmouth, it will come without financial aid, because you have not submitted paperwork. You would then have to appeal in hopes of getting FA.

Your failure to sumbit your financial aid paperwork on time can place you at risk of not receiving any financial aid at some schools (I suggest going back and checking all of your deadlines).

^jiejingz, i’m in the exact same position (canadian) and i’m just going to file the 2008 ones because all the other colleges i’ve talked to have said the same thing

ok, thnaks for the replies guys~
