Need to send tax returns if not applying for financial aid?

I'm really sorry if this is a dumb question, but you know college apps.. you just wanna be sure everything is right :)

On <a href="http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/deadlines.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/deadlines.html</a> it says this

February 1
Deadline for Regular Decision Applicants to submit signed copies of student's and parents' tax returns and W-2's (if not completed, submit previous year's returns), and, if applicable, the noncustodial parent's tax return and W-2's and/or the Business/Farm Supplement.

Since it just says "RD applicants", does that mean ALL? I'm not applying for financial aid, but will I still need to do this? (If so, I better hurry!) Could someone shed some light on this please.. anxious girl here. Thanks muchly :)

No, it's only if you're applying for financial aid. The page is for "Admissions & Financial Aid." Dartmouth, being need-blind, doesn't need any financial information for admissions alone.

If you have submitted the FASA paperwork, is there still need to submit tax returns by Feb 1? Or should you wait until D asks for tax returns?

IF you have submitted the FAFSA papaerwork and you need FA then you need to file your paperwork (signed tax statements, W-2's, etc) by the deadline.

To my understanding, it would be OK to provide the tax documents of 2006 if your tax returns for 2007 are not done by the deadline. However, tax returns for 2007 will be required once they are done.

Not true as this would only be the case if you were applying ED, then your package may be adjusted based on fluxuations between the 2006 and 2007 income.

Otherwise, the school will not do a financial aid package without your signed tax documents for the year requested. For the 2008-09 school year it would be tax year 2007.

Thanks for clearing that up Chedva! I couldn't survive without people like you. :)

*Income Tax Returns and other information:

If you will not have your 2007 federal income tax returns completed by February 1, please submit a copy of all 2006 federal income tax returns (parents and student) and 2007 W-2 forms directly to Dartmouth. Once the 2007 returns have been completed, please follow the IDOC process...*

Please See <a href="http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/financialaid/applying/us-pr.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/financialaid/applying/us-pr.html</a></p>

Thanks kvn5421 for the update and reference.
Do you submit complete 2006 fed income tax returns and 2007 W-2s to the Dartmouth Financial Aid Office with a simple coverletter asking documents to be included in the applicants file? Any special attention in mailing?

However, the fact still remains that you will not get a final FA package until they receive the 2007 paperwork including signed 2007 taxes because you cannot complete the IDOC process.

Documents required by Dartmouth College to be submitted through the IDOC process:

Signed copy of Parents' 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, including all schedules, W-2 forms.
Signed copy of Student's 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, if filed, including all schedules.

It is necessary to submit only **one complete packet /b to IDOC.

There is also a first year authorization form that must be completed and sent in with the IDOC paperwork.

In submitting 2006 Federal Return along with 2007 W-2s by Feb 1, does D require the entire return or simply the first 2 sheets of Form 1040?
Is there need to submit copies of 2006 W-2s?
