what do typical students who get recruited to an ibank major in?
i know that a lot of undergrad students who go to other colleges major in econ; however, i've heard that econ is not an actual major designed for wharton students (although u get a bachelor's degree in economics when u graduate from wharton undergrad)

what do they normally pick as their concentration??

Definitely finance

go to career services on campus. theyll be a better resource for your particular situation than any of us. (unless of course a high ranking i-bank official likes to kill time on cc)

most major in finance...

bern's location makes him credible.

With regard to Wharton concentrations specifically:

The typical person for i-banking would concentrate in Finance. Without a doubt. If you don't take upper level courses in finance and you are competing with the other 60& of the class that concentrates in finance and will likely be applying for the same jobs... well you just don't look quite the same on paper. It helps to have those additional upper level classes.

I'm sure other concentrations have gotten jobs, but they probably had internships in i-banking or finance previously. Maybe through connections?
