I know that Stony has a couple of popular majors such as computer science. On my common app, I indicated that I’m interested in the computer science major. But, I’m worried that I won’t get in since it’s a popular major. If I don’t get in, can I still get into Stony in general as an undergrad? I’m a senior from Bronx Science with a 33 ACT, 11 APs, 1 post- ap class, 1 elective (Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, and a 93.86 GPA.
Good question. Potentially, yes. That’s our “AOI” (area of interest) program. Those spots are limited too, though, and no decisions have been made on that yet.

@sbuadmissions Sorry just to clarify, if I don’t get into computer science, will I be potentially be rejected from stony brook itself?
It really depends on your application; impossible to say in this kind of forum. (Sorry I can’t be more definite.)
