TG - considering the small number of applicants actually posting here, no, it doesn't surprise me at all not to see rejections posted. We saw only a handful during ED rounds. Looks to me like most students posting here are pretty high achievers, who haven't stumbled much through high school. You and I know that college rejections are really not much more than a door ding in the scheme of life, but it's a hard punch to the stomach to 17-18 yr. olds, especially to those who might have some (maybe overly) inflated egos. Like animals, most people tend to lick their wounds in private.

When I was deferred from Cornell ED, I posted that I was deferred like 15 minutes or so after I got the decision (had to call dad and brother and stuff). I would think there would be at least some people that would post their rejections. With a 40% acceptance rate, even if the people here are high-achievers, having no rejections is unrealistic. And last year's thread shows many people who posted when they were rejected- which was around April 1st instead of late March like those accepted.

I dont think that the no one posting rejections makes sense...
When I got Deferred at UofC, the number of people who posted rejected was like 5 altho over 40% is rejected outright in EA/ED...

best of luckto all those waiyting (im included :D)

last years acceptance thread showed some acceptance in april...
Granted some might have been late posters but others probably posted after receiving their acceptances in early april.

However, it is a DEFINATE that the amount of acceptances this week will be significantly less than in the first wave of decisions

I counted somewhere around 72 acceptances on the decisions thread...I may be mistaken but every single one got into at least one school though some were rejected/WL at other CMU schools.

Even if posters are reluctant to post rejections (you do see plenty of posted rejections on CC however), you'd expect at least ONE posted rejection by now especially for a school that will only take about 30% this year. BUT it seems you can be accepted well into April. A bit confusing. Or perhaps CC posters are a large cut above everyone else which I guess is possible, but I doubt it.

I havn't been rejected or admitted yet. I don't have a decision posted online either. So i guess I either got rejected or they forgot I even applied, lol.

apparently my letter was just mailed today :(.....is this bad?

AHAHAHAHAHA I heard the funniest response from the office lady

Me : I was wondering if my letter has been sent ?
Lady : It was sent yesterday my dear
Me : So when do you think it will arrive and when should it be online ??
Lady : You should expect 10~14 days for the mail to arrive
and we do not post online decisions
Me : uh.....ok..... bye....
Lady : bye bye

Me : (hangs up the phone) Idiot.....

2 weeks for mail ?? for a state thats just 3~4 states away ??
No online decision ? LOL

That just made my day...

I just called and she was nice. She said : your mail was sent yesterday and that you should recieve it before Saturday. Saturday is when the decisions are going to be posted online so if you didn't recieve it by Saturday you can always check online.

she was chill.

Seems like they sent the second batch yesterday. I called and they said the same thing.

for all you who called and were told that it was sent yesterday, does your online page say that the document was sent

nope it doesn't show for me

same here, no updates online

nothing here either.

I received my letter today ..... accepted. I also received a full tuition fellowship/assistantship for grad school.

wow that's fabulous! :) congrats! how exactly did you get that opportunity? ie what major?

No letter today either. I'll be checking online later today. Please let it be there..

My letter was sent today. Should receive it tomorrow or Friday...keeping my fingers crossed tho!

Mine was not sent, getting up an extra five minutes early every morning to anxiously check online is not good when you're getting less than five hours of sleep.

I hate this process....

The college admissions process?
