If you reapply as a transfer, do colleges compare applications?

Will they keep your former application and pull it up even if it has been two years? Do they have comments from the former admissions committee, etc?

Even if they tell you to resubmit transcripts, etc?

I don’t want reapplying to hurt my chances.

Some posters have specifically stated that colleges DO hang on to apps (for up to four years). That being said, your college course work will be much more important. I would also look up the Common Data Set and look at section D to see if HS info was even considered for transfers.

Thanks for the response. Why do some bother asking us to resubmit hs information though?

Those schools probably do use HS info. For instance:
Kenyon requires HS info from all. http://www.kenyon.edu/directories/offices-services/institutional-research/common-data-sets/

CSU Long Beach doesn’t require HS info at all: https://daf.csulb.edu/offices/univ_svcs/institutionalresearch/ir_reports/IRpdfreports/CDS_2015-2016.pdf

If it lists required for some it generally means if you have <2 years in college they want the info.

I’d imagine they ask students to resubmit data so they are not forced to go back through their records. It is likely that not every transcript, standardized test report etc. is kept in a handy place.
