Those of you who have already applied ED somewhere, have you sent apps to other colleges yet? If not, have you even done supplements for those colleges?

My parents are telling me to send apps to like 8 schools but I feel that that would be a waste because you have to withdraw them if you get into your first choice. Right now I don't even feel like doing the supplements for those colleges because I'm anxious about ED decisions.

If any of the other schools use rolling admissions, might as well get them in as soon as you can. For the rest, it depends how confident you are on getting in ED, if you think theres a good chance you'll be rejected, it's best to work on the other apps now as well.

many people find its best to work on the other apps prior to hearing back from your ED school. For one, some deadlines come earlier. More importantly, it can be quite a blow to be rejected or deferred ED, and it may be hard to get in the right frame of mind to do your best on the other apps.

We have the same dilemma. While I want my son to have all his ducks in a row if he gets deferred or rejected, I also don't want to pay hundreds of dollars in admission fees if he gets in to his ED school. On the other hand, what he has put out hasn't been very good because he's mostly hoping he gets in ED and so it seems stupid to push when the results will be mediocre. The big ? is how depressed he'll be if he doesn't get in and them have barely two weeks AND first semester finals to deal with while writing a bunch of supplements -- some more esoteric than others.
