5/800

APUSH was very easy. SAT II US Hist was easier.

(and I mean this relative to the other tests [and in absolute terms as well])

Oh, I see. Details, details. -sigh- I’m reading Amsco right now, which should help me with that. What were your favorite review books for APUSH and the SAT? I have the Princeton Review, REA’s books (though I haven’t started them yet), and the Amsco for the APUSH and got the College Board blue prep book for the SAT.

I did both and got a 750 on the SAT II, 4 on the AP. I’d recommend Amsco from what I’ve heard from others, but I rarely use study guides to begin with. If you have a lot of random knowledge about US History, it makes both tests that much easier. I’d say that the MC was about equal in difficulty for both, but the AP had the essays.

Wow, I feel dumb. I guess I was never that good at history.
And if you couldn’t guess, no, I didn’t take the SAT US History, especially after getting the AP test scores back.
My English Lang. score kinda made up for it.
Now I regret not doing better in that class. Hm.

I’m self-studying APUSH and will take SAT USH in June

There’s an IB US History? 0,o weeeird, I’m in IB World history, and we’re studying europe. I guess it’s proably just different topics or something ![]()
anyways. the USH is more detail oriented than AP, imo (the latter is more focused on trends as opposed to actual dates/people/etc). there’s a TON of threads about this on the SAT Subject Tests Preparation if you want to research that

AP exam was easier. Got a 5.
690 on the SAT

I got a 4 on the AP exam and a 700 on the SAT II. I probably would have gotten a 5, but I didn’t answer almost 20 multiple choice questions (I’m pretty bad at keeping track of time and I got stuck on question :P).

Anyway, I think the AP test was much easier. This could be because I actually prepared for the AP exam, and did nothing for the SAT. I had forgotten some thing by the time I took the SAT II.

OH, and yes, AMSCO is the greatest resource for AP US History. I basically flipped through the book the night before the test and looked for anything I didn’t know (My teacher also gave us really great study guides with key terms, which was also pretty helpful).

If you take AP US, then you should take the SAT II because you’re going to do pretty well.

Wow, thanks for all your great advice! Sorry I can’t reply to each of you individually.

I’m trying to catch up in the Amsco to where we are in class over break right now. Finished chapter 3 today, lol, and I have around two weeks to make it to chapter 17…I’m reading all of the DBQ supplements and such too; did those really help?

At our school, it’s called Pre-IB US History. There’s also an AP US History class, but I’ll be shooting for the IB Diploma so I’m in the PIB course right now. They’re pretty similar, from what I hear.

AP Exam is waaaaaay easier than the SAT II. I took both in May and got a 5 on the AP an a 710 on the SAT.
