So I'm a spring admin to UC Berkeley and I have been spending the fall at my local community college for some extra credit. With the few classes I'm taking and my AP scores I have fulfilled all but two requirements, which the transfer site on my college says is fine and just needs a partial IGETC instead. I need to confirm with people that with this partial IGETC I have just skipped all the necessary General Education Requirements and only have to focus on my major and electives. Is this true even though I'm not a transfer student but am instead a Spring Freshman. I know this may be a simple answer but I'm kinda freaked out because it seems to easy and simple to be true, so I need an outside confirmation.

I don’t think finishing a partial IGETC lets you skip ALL the GE. That wouldn’t make any sense, that they would let like 5 classes count for 10 or more classes. Even if the partial IGETC doesn’t transfer, the classes should still be able to transfer and applied for you to finish the GE at Berkeley. Even if they don’t all transfer, it’s no big deal. It’s just a couple GEs and you’re already into the college.
