I am struggling to keep up in cc courses as I missed the first weed taking finals at my current uc school. I was planning on completing igetc to transfer but is it necessary???

Based off my knowledge and research, IGETC is something that UC’s suggest you complete before transferring. On the other hand there are alot of transfer students that don’t finish their IGETC and take something called a partial IGETC where they finish the rest of their GE’s at the UC they attend. I don’t work in any sort of admission department, but I would strongly rec you to finish off your IGETC before you transfer because it will save you time(class wise), and it gives you time to focus and work harder on upper division courses in college. Money is a huge factor as well, you will be spending tons at a UC for a general course class where at a CC it’s much cheaper. I even heard sometimes UC’s make you finish IGETC if you are a engineer major or some sort of STEM major, but im not 100% sure on that since I’m not a STEM major. Good luck!
