My essay is quite good but not amazing, according to people who used to be admissions readers.
One of my teacher recommendations is going to be very good and the other is going to be absolutely amazing. My counselor rec is going to be average.

Thanks and I will chance you back as soon as possible.

CHANCE BACK!

Really? A Republican applying to Brown? I would have thought Dartmouth… ANYWAYS

Your ECs are overall QUITE lackluster and your scores/grades aren’t particularly exceptional (they’re good, just not great). And with an essay that’s only good not great, I’d say your chances are quite low b/c there is nothing particularly compelling about you, you’re just another competent applicant :(

I would have applied to JHU ED instead b/c I think you would get in, but I still think it’s a low reach/high match for regular decision. Consider adding a school ranked in the mid-20s, like maybe UVA (…plenty of conservatives like you there…) or CMU. Just a thought because you’d definitely get into those places!

GOOD LUCK!

What are you majoring in? Your SAT score isn’t bad and neither is your GPA. But Brown is super selective; are your ECs heavily correlated to your major? Cause otherwise it might be a bit of a reach. Good luck!

Thanks, I plan on majoring in political science and\or economics so they match up with my major about as well as they can at my school (with the exception of people who are going to be theatre and music majors).
