Illinois ACT Thread. Silverturtle, want to help get a full list? = D

yeah silver is right and it was 36.

I thought it was -4 because it was -x?

I thought it was -4 because it was -x?

^ In the original problem it was - so when you plug in the -x it turns positive.

silver btw what did you get for the question with the candles? It was a digression or that it was a visualization?

oh and how did you think the act was?

the trapezoid with 2 right angles and a base of x and 2x?

I think the answer was 12 (for 2x)

^ Right on the 2x = 12

there was a question that was xsq + cx +k with the roots -4 and 2
the answer was a (find c and k), I think it was 2 and -8 or something

^That’s correct

there was a science one with the acids and bases, the answer was II and III (baking soda and lye)

and the alleles one with the maze bright rats- they would have higher L because the AT4 thing was lower in the maze bright rats

if anyone has any more math questions feel free to ask, because i am positive that i got them all right

however, judging by the discussion i believe i may have missed one
i think it might be the ellipse, i thought the major axis was the whole thing, and the denominator was the square of whole thng

so i put my denominators as being 676 and 100…i shall check rly quick and get bk

yes, unfortunately, i am mistaken, the denominators are the squares of the semi-major axes.

^ You shoulda just pluged in the points on the graph… thats what I did b/c I forgot if it was + or -

now tht u mention it, tht prob wud have been the logical thng to do :(

Pianofish, are you sure that L wasn’t higher in the dull or whatever it was?

L was higher in the light because the N123 whatever number was lower.

I’m pretty sure, but… I could always be wrong

Anyone know when the results come in? I was hoping 2 1/2 weeks, but that doesn’t appear to apply to state. 3-8 weeks, maybe?

I thought that it said that ATW4 was associated with the L allele. And, didn’t the dull have higher ATW4, so they would have the L allele?

L had a lower wrong turn rate than l. The allele causes more wrong turns so the maze-bright mice must have had a higher count of whatever (L?) since their wrong turn rate was lower than the maze-dull mice.

L was higher in the maze bright because they had lower ATW4 right?
