Illinois chance? for LAS

hi. I live oos in CA. here are the stats:

ACT: 31

AP's: Span- 5 Eng- 4 US History- 3

GPA: 3.38 but for what it's worth...i was in, for the most part, very rigorous classes. (see ap's, and more honors too)

ECs listed on app: football, track, was in 2 clubs, and work

Job/Work Experience: did finances that were really receipts at a family friend's company and also had a job there too

Essays (subject and responses): already started so they should be very good hopefully...

Teacher Recs: better than great

Counselor Rec: great

School Type: Private, does not rank

Ethnicity: Hispanic

Gender:M

Also: Took 3 summer courses at a local comm. college

thank you.

Recomendations are neither required nor used for admission. Main factors are class rank and test score. Test score is very good but GPA indicates rank may be low (they estimate rank if school does not rank). Having APs and honors help. URM status will also help. Being OOS does not effect chances. Worth applying but is likely somewhat of a reach.

yeah sorry the recs in there. I have tons of Comm Service too. is it really somewhat of a reach? hmm i've heard it's a match....but this person prob. didn't know much about UIUC i suppose

Is that the weighted, or unweighted GPA? Your ACT looks very good, but class rank is another factor. As of now, it looks like a bit of a reach.

that is the W, which is the one they look at. At least that's what the admissions director told me.

so, can i consider illinois a match, high match, or low reach, etc. then?

well from what i've heard, they have a 70% + acceptance rate? wouldn't that, theoretically help me?

Low reach...you have a chance to get in; it's like, you either might make it or you might not.

well that's better than no shot hah

so it's a 50-50 then electrictech.
