Illinois iFoundry for Innovation in Engineering?

For those who got into UIUC Engineering in priority filing, did you receive a letter about Illinois iFoundry for Innovation in Engineering? I am just curious about this program. It sounds like it has just been launched.

The link iFoundry has some information, but i still don't know what this is? Does anyone know if it is necessary to apply to this program?

I just received something about that in the mail also. I am also curious about this.

same. anybody?

There is an application on the ifoundry site. You can apply on-line. Click on Admissions and then Apply. It looks like they are going to pick 50 students for the first class. It basically looks like an experiment in Engineering curriculum change and they want some students to participate.

Hey guys i have just applied to ifoundry.Do you think that this course is something really different and worth taking from what it sounds?

I don't know. It really sounds like an experimenting course. Have decided that you would go to UIUC for sure?

yes i have decided....

Anyone else got the same letter?

Just got this letter. Anyone know if you can study abroad if you choose this program?

Yeah, i just applied for that as well. my take is, it doesn’t hurt to apply. even if you get it and don’t feel like doing it, i’m sure you can back down and let someone else take your spot.
they said that there’s only room for 50 people, so it’s going to be tight
