So how did ILR ED app's go this year? I'm curious because I'm looking to apply RD and want a feel for who/what they're looking at this year (besides oos & minority). I'm wondering if they hold an emphasis on gpa/test scores/ec's?

Basically all the ny'ers got screwed, out of the 5 or so ny ilr applicants only one i know of got in. Me and a girl in my school both applied (I had 33 act she had a 34 act and we were both defered) Otherwise it was also pretty competitive, i didnt see anyone get in with less than a 1400. So much for fit, 250+ hours with the afl-cio apprently doesnt mean crap. Heres to hoping the deferal (aka soft rejection) comes through.

cheers,
Mike

miktau, I assume you centered your ILR essay around your AFL-CIO experience. If you wouldn't mind, could I read your essay?

Hmm, well I hope everything pulls together for you miktau. It seems like you really put together a good fit for cornell to consider...

Sure my ILR essay was mainly about my evolution of intrests of organization in nature (ie ant colonies) eventually giving way to becoming interested in the organization of the real world (I mentioned my experience but didnt focus my essay on it because it didnt suit the topic really). My activity essay was devoted to my afl-cio experience. Ill pm you both.

cheers,
Mike
