2007mom’s right on the money.

Although, to be honest, I didn’t fully realize the path to maturity until spending some time as a student at the college. The initial reason I chose community college was because I didn’t get into my first choice college and I was definitely not going to waste my parents’ money and my own going to a second choice for the sake of getting a degree. There were all these stereotypes though that originally dissuaded me from choosing community college, but really all I cared about at first was transferring out. So I spoke with some profs and alums of the community college (one on this forum a few years back transferred to Yale as a junior) and it had an excellent track record with ivies and T-1 transfers. That really sealed the deal for me. Little did I know, however, that I would have one of the most invigorating experiences (courses, extracurriculars, internships, friendships) of my life as a result. Best decision I have ever made.

Mom, get your son on campus (if he hasn’t been already) and talking to some profs. He may change his mind!
