is there any nightlife? Because ive heard UCSD is notorious for not having alot of parties, so how does sixth do in that department?

you can drink in dorm rooms- but have to be careful of noise like you can't play music or you'll probably get caught. 6th is the easiest to get caught in b/c the dorm layout is so open.

You can pay to go to off campus frat parties like $5-$15 but they're usually in like the brewhouse where there is a separate room for under 21. And you either have to drive or fight to get on the busses that they sometimes provide.

If you have a car you can go to sdsu and find more typical college parties there.

Going to Tijuana is fairly easy. But it can get kinda expensive like $30 in one night.

are you talking about UCSD frats? can you rush as a freshmen?

of course :) i might rush next quarter...i need to see how busy i'm gonna be though with my classes first.

are there any chase or bank of america atms on campus or close to it?

there's a B of A ATM next to Price Center, which is pretty close to Sixth.

is there guarantee housing for freshmen or any student at all or is it pretty much first come first serve basic?

http://hds.ucsd.edu/housing/faq.html

What is the Housing guarantee?
All new first-year students admitted to UCSD in Fall 2007 are eligible for guaranteed Housing space for two years. First-year students are defined as new students entering UCSD in the fall, directly from high school. To secure this Housing guarantee, all Admissions and Housing deadlines must be met.
