Got into sixth college, ucsd although i was hoping for Muir.

Is there a reason that the sixth college doesn't have such a good reputation? - would like to hear from current students.

I totally agree and I bet a bunch of other prospectives want to know too. From hearing what current students have said about it, I was initially disappointed when I found out I got into Sixth College.

yea feeling a little disappointed here.

Sixth is a great college with some of the easiest GE’s.
Sure, it may be further away from things on campus, but the campus as a whole is huge so you can find ways that each college is far away from another point on campus.
Foodworx, the dining facility made for Sixth, has some pretty bomb food. But taste in food is a personal opinion.
Their dorms are old army barracks which is pretty cool. But the housing in all of the colleges are basically the same with just a different outside look. (With the exception of The Village which is really amazing housing, but it’s brand new, way more expensive and for mostly transfer students)

I’m actually a first year Muir student, but one of my good friends from home is a first year in Sixth this year. I asked him how “bad” it was, and he said that Sixth doesn’t deserve the bad rep that it gets.

I’m not in Sixth but I can tell you why you’re hearing poor things about it. People say, the dorms look ugly but really they’re fine. The dining hall is a bit of a walk from the dorms but it’s not THAT far and the food is good. Also, a lot of people don’t like the GEs but they aren’t that bad either. All and all, don’t be disappointed, you shouldn’t be. Be happy you just got accepted to a prestigious university! You should be jumping up and down and running around the house right now.
