I'm a 6th college freshman- Any questions for me?

I'm a current 6th college first year. I'm happy to answer any questions you guys have. Ask away...

is there alot of premeds at 6th? how are the dorms, post up some pics, and are there hot chicks in the dorms. how is the food, how will going to 6th help me in the future?

i'm curious as well.
i got into 6th and so far i've only hear bad stuff about it...
could ya clear up some rumors?
how bad are the dorms compared to other colleges? bug problem? dirty...etc.
what are the people there like?

How is the requirement to graduate? People said it's isolated. Can you clarify on that? What exactly is it surrounded by? Wood, the beach or just random building?

how's the housing?

There are 10 small buildings (50-60) people in each. There are 2 floors one for guys and the other for girls. There are 2 suites per floor which are separated by a bathroom (3 stalls, 4 showers and 5 sinks). Each suite has 5 bedrooms centered around a small common room with a sofa, table, and chairs. The building has a big study room on the top floor and a kitchen/living room on the bottom floor. They're centered around a big lawn with trees. Our dorms are small and old compared to others. But the layout is really nice and makes it easy to meet other people. 6th is on a far corner of campus but it's not a big deal "isolation wise" and we're the closest to Price Center. Our GE's are really easy compared to the other college's. There are a good amount of pre-meds. Food is ok-not the best. The people are all the same no matter which college you are in.

Overall everyone I know is really happy with 6th- and really like the layout of the dorms b/c it is so easy to meet other people. Don't worry- there is nothing terrible about 6th.

I'll try to post some pictures

Thanks a lot for the info, pics would be very nice.

How do I post pictures?

If you sixers have any other ucsd-related questions i'm happy to answer those too.

how does sixth compare to muir?

Just post the link, I don't think you can actually post pics.

link to what though? I don't think I have any photos on the internet- What's the easiest way for me to get them to you guys?

Muir is more centrally located- the dorms are in similar condition but they don't have the same nice grassy center- and don't have such a nice layout as 6th. Muir has OVT which is one of the best dining halls. I think GE's are similar in difficulty.

www.imageshack.us is good for uploads

do the rooms have air conditioning and/or internet?

no air conditioning, but of course they have internet, both wired and wireless

and by the way, there hasn't been a day this year where i've thought, "damn, i wish we had air conditioning"

really? i thought the sixth suites had air conditioning..or at least that's what my friend told me..

just bring a fan for those hotter days...i might need to bring one seeing how spring/summer's coming :).

what about showers? is there any privacy?

yeah, there are curtains, and a wall that seperates the two showers

how are the girls? is there a more hook up culture or more of a dating scene?

girls aren't horrible, and there are a few blazing ones

more hook up, at least among my friends and my suite. there's still dating, though it seems like a lot of those people came here already in relationships

how's the sense of community? do people know each other?
