Ahh! Just got this e-mail like two minutes ago:

"I am writing with the news that we are thrilled to be able to invite you as a finalist to our music scholarship competition on April 13. A letter will be going out tomorrow that gives much detailed information, but you can feel free to communicate with me at any time. We all hope that you will be able to attend the weekend, and we look forward to meeting you then."

I'M SO HAPPY!! Does this mean I'm into the school already? I feel like I'd have to be to become a finalist. According to the website, only 10-15 make it to the finalist round!

I hope somebody else got good news today about scholarships!

Ohh ohh ohh I hope I get it.

bluetissues, any news? i applied for the writing scholarship and, as far as i know, i'll find out if i'm a finalist or not when decisions come out on the 24th (if i get in...) i was curious to see if you had heard anything, as i haven't heard of anyone else that has received scholarship updates (excluding Belk scholars) except for you! :) congrats!

Yeah, I receieved my official letter from the music department telling me the basics of the competition/audition. I think the only reason they alert the music finalists earlier than everyone else is because we have to pick a song to play, send music for an accompianist to learn and make sure we can be there for the audition date. The only things I've gotten have been straight from the music department, but in my letter is said that I would be receiving more information about the Scholars Weekend from the admissions office shortly... so I'm assuming that this week, as decisions come out, the admissions office will send a big thing to all of the people going to the weekend and all the finalists will be alerted. Good look on the writing scholarship!

That definitely makes sense! Good luck!
