well, I wasted high school. somehow, I never realized it was important. I’m a junior half way through the year. 2.4 unweighted GPA. I’ve checked on all the websites, cappex(which tells me I’m a good candidate for mass Boston which is hard to believe), prep scholar, act. I’ve done the math, if I kill it the rest of this year. my gap can go up to about 2.7, then its time to apply to college.
with 3 years of football, 4 years of theater, hard classes through out high school, no community service(working on it), part of the school latin club and a good amount of potential teacher recommendation letters. I’m scared I have barely no chance of getting into ANY school in New England, due to my god awful GPA. if you guys have any ideas on how to make my common app better, or if you know of any schools, please help out.
-I know its naive to say, but I really don’t want to go to community college, so let me know if there is any other way. ill do anything this takes.
Know this probably doesn’t help, but there is nothing wrong with community college. If you kill it at two years in community college, you can get into a pretty decent school.
I would suggest doing the best you can on your SAT or ACT and then apply to the easy to get in schools in the New England region, I’d feel decent about your chances of getting in. If not, rough it out and go to community college.
I think if you’re super worried you can go to community college and fix up your resume for a year or 2 and save money also you can take summer classes and try to show colleges that you’re serious. IN YOUR ESSAY because that’s the only way you can speak to the admission counselor, talk about how irresponsible and how you didn’t take things seriously tell them you are serious about their school and you’re passionate about the field you want to go to they will understand. do really well on your SAT’s or ACT’s and try to make your resume look so good that the admissions counselors forget about your gpa do you best you’ll be fine
You still have hope. Do really well on your SAT or ACT. I don’t really know any schools besides where I live, but try looking at public state schools in your area. I live in GA and we have lots of public state schools like UNG, Kennesaw, West Georgia where I feel like you could get it. Just do your research and have a goal.
