I'm a senior, should I still take the December ACT?

December ACT scores come out anytime from December 27, 2011 to February 3, 2012. So say if my score comes out on February 3rd, and I decide to send it. The colleges would probably receive it in mid February... Is that way too late?

Oh, and I don’t want to send my score on the registration through priority report because I was thinking that if I got a worse ACT score than my SAT score, I just won’t bother sending it. But if I actually get a better score, I will send my ACT one.

I think it just depends the deadlines for your applications. I know a lot of seniors taking it in December. In my personal opinion, you should be fine. Hopefully, scores will likely be online towards the December 27th end of things and you can send your scores before January so the colleges will have them before Februrary.

Unless you’re international or something, your ACT score is highly likely to be available on December 27. My D has taken the ACT multiple times and her scores have always been online the first day. I asked her and she doesn’t know anyone among her friends who hasn’t gotten scores on the first day. I’m sure stuff happens to delay scores (I do know a student who had an issue on the SAT that delayed her score for a week), but I would make my decision based on what is likely.
