i'm accepted by James Madison University.

i am just accepted but i am hesitated because JMU is not that well-known and it is a regional university.I am not an american so i am confused whether regional universities are worse than national universities????
How about James Madison University? Is it has good reputation ???
I am going to study business program.

Please give me some information if you heard about this college.Thank you!!

I live in Virginia, so it has a very good reputation here. I don't know about the rest of America though. I'd imagine a lot of people haven't heard of it.

i live in VA also, and congrats. i also got into JMU. its got a good rep around here but im not sure about nationally. i know the business program is really good there. im trying to decide between JMU and U Miami(FL).

JMU is a very solid school. In the US News Rankings it ranked 2nd in Southern schools that offer up to a Masters. Most people where I live (in NJ) know about it and it has an even better reputation in the south.

JMU is a good school. If you want to work in the U.S. after you graduate you will have a lot of networking opportunities with a JMU degree. It is a pretty big school, so there is a lot of opportunity to make a place for yourself there. Also, if you have good academic credentials and are motivated you could be at the top of your class. It's not too far from Washington, DC either, so there are opportunities there.

Desmond both my son and daughter in law graduated from JMU. It is a great school with a excellent reputation. Both now have excellent jobs. They have a very high placement rate for graduating undergraduate and Graduate students. The campus is breathtaking and if you are an outdoor person you will greatly enjoy the Virginia Countryside in the immediate vicinity. Harrisonburg is not a large city but it does have all that the normal student needs. Good transportation exists to both Northern and Southern Virginia.

Is JMU a good school for premedicine?

Wow!!i can't imagine that so many people speak highly of this college.well, i am in China so it is really hard for me to get information about regional universities.Besides, I also applied SUNY-Binghamton and still waiting for it.
well, I really don't know how to choose~~

Desmond I am also familar with Suny Binghampton it is a great school and nationally recognized.

How do you choose? Well with the power of the internet and the cell phone it makes it easy to do a lot of remote research. I'd decide which criteria in a weighted prioritized order are important to you, then do your research and a +/- for each school. Most kids think about things like strength of the academic program, location, social life, size of campus, type of campus ect. I don't know from your post if you are a ExPat or a Chinese National and how important it will be to maintain some ties to your Chinese Community. NYC as you know has a very large Chinese Community within resonable travel distance. In VA it won't be that close.

If you have specific questions about JMU send me a private message, I can then forward it to the kids who are living in Norfolk they like VA that much. Perhaps they can answer better.

JMU has a very, very good reputation here in Virginia and the school continues to grow more competitive.
