I'm a sophomore in college and I applied for some internships online and one of them got back to me. It's an unpaid social media and marketing internship. I know it has nothing to do with accounting but at this point I have zero work experience whatsoever besides a whopping 2 months of volunteer work. My question is, should I just do the internship, and is it going to help me at all going forward?

One major thing to note is that I think a lot of places just don’t really need work over the summer, but moreso over the late winter because of tax season; so your lack of accounting job prospects doesn’t have everything to do with you.

Personally, I would just do the internship because it would keep me busy and it will probably help you even though its unrelated to accounting. I mean, as a sophomore in college how much do you really know about accounting to offer real help to people accounting-wise?

Considering the fact that you have zero work experience, this is a chance to not only build your resume but learn something for yourself at least.
