I recently found out that FAFSA takes maybe 2 weeks to be delivered. What should I do? Their EA deadline (meaning they want everything received by) is November 1.
Your school will pull the information when they are ready for it. It does not take 2 weeks for FAFSA to process, but the schools pull the information when they are ready. You put the school code on your FAFSA right?
I may have totally misunderstood the FAFSA. My D applied to 3 schools EA. That means FAFSA also must be in by Nov 1? We haven’t completed that yet?!?!
The deadlines at every school are different. My D is applying to a few EA schools. At one, the FAFSA is due November 15. At the other, it’s not due until February.
OP, check with Michigan to see when it’s due. Also, if the FA materials are late, that shouldn’t impact an admission decision, but the FA may be impacted or notification of your FA award may be delayed.
No matter which school you should submit your FAFSA asap. Schools only get so much federal money. Once they’re done giving it out , that’s it, there is no more. Also Michigan also requires the CSS profile in addition to the FAFSA.
Per U-M’s website financial aid section.
APRIL 30 PRIORITY DEADLINE: The Office of Financial Aid must receive your FAFSA from the federal processor by April 30 to consider you for federal and institutional financial aid. If your FAFSA is rejected, you must resolve any problem before this deadline, so we recommend applying early and allow 3-4 weeks for processing. If you miss the deadline, aid will be limited.
No. You don’t need to submit FAFSA by EA deadline, but you should submit as soon as possible for other reason. In addition, you also need to submit CSS Profile to UMich. For instate student who want Michigan Competitive Scholarship , the deadline to submit FAFSA is March 1.

Every school has different FA deadlines for FAFSA, CSS Profile, any if their own FA forms, tax returns, etc. it is a good idea to go through the website of each school being applied to, and put together a spreadsheet to track all those dates.
As others said above, the November 1 deadline is for everything related to admission, but most financial aid information isn’t due until April 30th, although you should complete it as early as possible
