im beyond miserable

you got into 3 tier 1 school, stop complaining

some people are the happiest in the world if they get into a state school...for some its expected...some people are thrilled to get into jhu...some people arent thrilled till they get to harvard (none of this applies to me directly) but everything is a matter of perspective

rejection is hard no matter where you get in...if i got into harvard...id still be upset at other rejections...not for a long time or anything...but atleast for the day they come (which is today)

yeah thats because i have to pay 20 thousand dallors more than you lol

Um. Excuse me? You're beyond miserable?

I applied to 19 colleges.

1 - Rejected

2 - Waitlisted

3 - Rejected

4 - Rejected

5 - Rejected

6 - don't know yet

7 - don't know yet

8 - don't know yet

9 - Accepted/color

10 - Rejected

11 - Rejected

12 - Rejected/color

13 - Rejected

14 - Accepted

15 - Accepted

16 - Accepted

17 - Accepted

18 - Rejected

19 - Rejected

I was completely expected to get into some of these... It blew it me away when I was rejected at some of these. I'm still in recovery mode and I'm still a little sad, but I'm not wallowing.

i applied to stern at nyu

OP... u finally need to go to ONE college. Now, no one is going to offer/reject you from a job based on which colleges u got into. U got CMU and thats wayy cool. So, if u didnt get anywhere so far, a cause of concern is noted, but this is nitpicking as ONE is needed and u got a large selection for that one as it is, even if the selection is 14 schools

haha that is kinda funny roy...what program did you apply to at cmu and nyu?
Were you reffering to me or sbroy?

In any case I applied as a CS major in both.

McGill is awesome dude. It's like the Harvard of Canada.

what were your stats/scores? you got into alot of schools that i'm looking at, esp carnegie. like george washington, pennstate, lehigh, carnegie and maybe barnard. and nyu of course. my scores arent so great, so im a bit worried. thanks!

God what an insufferable whining weeney you are. I have serious doubts about what will happen to you once you get out of college. I sure as heck wouldn't hire you.

You're so emo.

I heard that if you go to Carnegie, you wind up homeless.

No matter what.

So, all you can do now is buy an abundance of flannel and buy "Hobos for Dummies." I wish you the best of luck, Comrade.

i concur

If you feel miserable, then I should be too :) I applied to 11, but only made to 4 and got waitlisted by 1, and I don't know yet from 1. I got rejected by four Ivies, and only got into one Ivy. God I am miserable that I only got into one Ivy !!

Seriously, u got into a very good college :) and there's something called "Transfer" if you don't like CMU.

I am sorry, but the title of this thread makes me angry..Can't say why, but its kind of bragging and feel sorry for me thread...just irks me a tad

Rejections hurt, you'll get over it.

I was shocked when UT austin rejected me (and my bro was shocked when cornell and NYU rejected me) I got over both of them because I got into USC to start out with. After a bic lighter later, I felt much better.

Why did you even apply to [wonderful] places like CMU, Wisconsin, McGill, and Lehigh if it was going to depress you to go to one of them? By the way, those 4 colleges offer amazing opportunities, and only Ivy-obsessed people needing to compensate for some insecurity would scoff at any one of them.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't NYU new on the prestige list. In the 1970's I believe it was lower in prestige than the City University of New York. I am shocked that everyone thinks so highly of it now. What happened?
