<p>I've asked that NYU question too, and have gotten no clear answer. The best I can come up with is the surge in interest in business/money (NYU's close to Wall Street), JFK Jr. went to law school there, Guiliani made the city safer, and "Sex and the City" made it look like it is fun to spend your money on shoes and complain about men.</p>
<p>While money still seems to be in vogue, JFK Jr. is dead, Bloomberg is mayor, and the "Sex and the City" gals are all knocking on menopause's door. Go figure.</p>
