I'm confused about Texas A&M college station's automatic admission process in regard to the sat

It says the following:
Applicants qualify for automatic academic admission (but not necessarily to the major of choice), if they:

successfully complete Texas A&M’s required coursework, and
rank in the top quarter of their graduating class on or before the application deadline, and
meet test score minimums
New SAT:
Total score of at least a 1360 with at least:
620 Math; and
660 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW

I am in the top quarter of my class with a current superscore of 1350 (I should receive my November SAT soon and my superscore will definitely be above 1360) but do they even superscore? I’ve seen people saying different things on the internet. If they don’t superscore, why do they require that all scores be sent to them?

Even if I don’t have automatics admission, what are my chances of getting in with a 4.11 gpa, a 1310-1400 (still waiting on my november sat) score on the sat without superscoring, girl scouts, NHS, and lots of diversity (third culture kid)? Also how long do they take? I want to be admitted as quickly as possible to pick out the dorm that I want.

Texas A&M does not superscore. They will take your best scores from one sitting and give no consideration to the others.

Your GPA isn’t used except in instances where a high school doesn’t rank. They will use the GPA with the grading profile of the school and assign a rank in quartiles.

Did you elect to have your scores auto sent to A&M when you signed up for SAT? It’s usually received faster than waiting for scores to be released and then requesting them sent. That can be days to a few weeks.

Auto/academic admits rarely don’t major they applied to. The exceptions are engineering, because every application undergoes holistic review and Mays business school, whose available freshman spots are full by mid Nov. they do reserve a few spots for high achieving review applicants.

While some review applicants receive a decision before the Christmas break, it’s not many. They are busy placing auto and academic admits into their majors until the time closes, which is extended to Jan 2, due to Hurricane Harvey.

Most review applicants will begin to be notified individual January, when school resumes, with the majority finding out in mid February.

Your best bet on receiving a decision before Feb is to become an academic admit. Then, depending on if you want Mays, if all spots are taken, you will be asked to choose any other open major. Or engineering, you will hear by mid Jan.

Good Luck
