I am a big supporter of Bernie Sanders and I’m thinking about volunteering for his campaign. Will this be something to put on a resume?
Yes.
I also contributed to his campaign with my own money should I put that down too?
I wouldn’t mention the money, it won’t show any more commitment than volunteering will. Also, on apps you may wish to say that you volunteered for a presidential campaign and list the details of whatever you did without actually indicating which specific candidate/party you supported.
Don’t mention money. Being involved and doing things matter way more fo colleges since they can hope you’d be involved on campus too.
What does your interest in PoliSci have to do with your choice of placing this on your resume? Colleges rarely care WHAT you want to major in. They want you to have a great transcript. You might be over-estimating what ECs and choice of major can play in your eventual college admissions…
Jeez, the conflicting advice on this site makes my head spin sometimes… Colleges apparently “don’t care” if your ECs relate to your major, and yet I’ve seen people asked why they don’t have a “cohesive narrative” showing why they want to go into engineering instead of English.
Anyway, I definitely agree with most of the above posters! Volunteering in your chosen field is never a minus. Mentioning the money would probably come off as arrogant at worst, irrelevant at best.
Ill just mention the volunteering
