Where are they? What seed? What region?

You must not watch college bball much. They weren't very good this year and needed a few more wins to get in.

he's trying to taunt us because he is still upset that he didn't get into michigan and had to settle for indiana-who got into the tournament

Tsk, tsk, tsk!!! Gloating does not become you...Hoosier! Indiana's bracket looks pretty reasonable, so hopefully, you guys will make it far.

I have Indiana losing in the first round to Gonzaga. My #1 rule while filling out my bracket was: if we beat you, you suck. (See MSU losing to Marquette in round 1 for the same reason.)

The bigger question is: why did Florida get placed in THE easiest bracket of this decade??? They were clearly the last first seed and yet they got placed in a bracket including a banged up Wisconsin 2-seed, a weak Oregon 3-seed, and a most-of-the-year unranked Maryland 4-seed. Meanwhile, UNC, Georgetown, and Texas all get put in the same eastern bracket. What gives?

what i don't get is why purdue got in

Michigan basketball always depresses me. We never make it.

I was actually shocked U-M didn't make it, esp since Purdue, with the same record as U-M (at least win-wise) made it. I guess PU had a quality win, somewhere, and Michigan did not. In the last 2 weeks, U-M's actually looked better than MSU (and the Wolves beat us handily @ Crisler a week and a half ago), then smacked Minny in the B10 tourney, while MSU eeked out a win against lowly NW'rn (which has NEVER made the NCAA tournament) before getting thoroughly humiliated by Wisconsin... My instinct was that the Wolves got shafted and yet, people at the MDaily and Detnews seem OK with it.

... Is Tommy going to be pink-slipped? Quality guy, but...

I don't know, I'm starting to wonder. I think they've given Amaker a lot of time (which I've thought was appropriate) but I wonder if that's coming to an end.

I wish they had a faster timetable for redoing Crisler. It's just not a fun place to see a basketball game, even when the team is doing well.

We got a HORRIBLE draw, I was watching and saw "Sacramento, CA" and then UCLA's name come up at the 2 seed. I knew we were getting a 7-10 so I was screaming "please not here, please not here, please not here" and then our name came up and I let out a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" I'd take a 2nd round matchup against Memphis, or any of those 3 seeds. UCLA is essentially a 1, and playing them IN CALIFORNIA will be near impossible to beat.

UM won 49-40 over Minnesota, not really a smacking but they did win. Michigan didn't get in because they scheduled no one outside of the conference, and when they did, they lost - badly. The tournament wants teams that can be competitive away from their home and potentially beat the higher seeds - Michigan showed no signs of that, Purdue did.

Are they redoing Crisler when they redo the Big House?

Btw saw a Comcast show yesterday about the Fab Five. Apparently all the banners and references to their NCAA appearances had to be removed. Sounds not unlike Pete Rose being Hall of Fame eligible...

From the start, Amaker was expected to be the "transactional" leader...the guy that would lead our program out of a crisis back to respectability and stability. He has accomplished what most of us felt was his mission and, unfortunately, the extent of his potential given his coaching limitations. We are now a respectable and stable program. The next step is to hire a coach that is transformational...one that will take us to the next level. Unfortunately, I don't think Tommy is the one to do it.

Supposedly we have some really solid recruiting classes coming in over the next 2 years. I still say Amaker deserves more time.

Amaker is getting fired.

this wasnt a suprise

drexel not getting in suprised me

But you see Michigan State right?

That's right the day is ours! :-P

I'd rather win the NIT than lose in the first or second round of the Big Dance.

So would your athletic director, or so it appears

I remember a couple years back when Georgetown (?) won the NIT and to motivate his guys the next year, the coach hung the NIT banner over the urinal in their locker room. I think we share the same sentiments about the importance of an NIT Championship.

^^Haha

One would assume Amaker is going to be given at least one more year, if for nothing else to make sure Legion and Harris don't de-commit. These two recruits along with Kelvin Grady should be the best class in quite awhile and then it really becomes a question as to whether he can develop talent (Dion Harris had tons of unrealized potential, so this is a big if).

But the Crisler really really needs to be redone before this becomes a top notch program...someone wake up Bill Martin after January or even Ed Martin from beyond the grave!
