Congrats men's bb! GO BLUE!

Co-champ*

Also a 3-seed in the Big Ten tournament i think.

2 seed .

Doesn’t the Big 10 have a tourney that determines that?

Regular season determines big ten champs, tournament determines big ten tournament champs.

Doesn’t matter if designated co-champ or undisputed champ, MICHIGAN IS CHAMP!!

Winning a share of the Big 10 is a great reward for our team. Not only did Michigan, MSU and OSU share the title, but they each went 1-1 vs the other. They truly are co-champs.

This said, I wonder why MSU and not OSU is the #1 seed in the Big 10 tournament. Afterall, the reason why MSU is given a higher seed than Michigan is their better overall record (24-7 vs 23-8), yet OSU has an even better overall record (25-6). Using the overall record argument, shouldn’t OSU be the #1 seed, MSU the #2 seed and Michigan the #3 seed?

Let us hope Michigan can maintain their high level of play through the tournament season. Should we win our first game of the Big 10 tournament, we should enter March Madness as a #4 seed at the very worst.

Actually, overall record does not figure into B1G tournament seeding at all. Since we all tied against each other, as Alexandre pointed out, the next tiebreak is our records against the next highest seeded team, which was Wisconsin. MSU went 2-0 > UMich went 1-0 > aOSU went 1-1.

Stick, you are wrong.
The logic is moo u and Michigan were both undefeated against no.4 wisconsin, while ohio split 1-1 with wisconsin, so they are automatically 3 seed. moo u was undefeated against no.5 purdue while Michigan split 1-1, so moo u takes 1 seed and Michigan takes 2 seed.

"Co-champ*

Also a 3-seed in the Big Ten tournament i think. "

lol first of all it’s 2-seed. Also it’s funny moo u fans talk about seeding as if it’s a hierachy of the co-championship.

Not as funny as scUM fans treating a shared Big Ten championship as the best accomplishment ever.

but still not as funny as aggies treating 4 wins against Michigan (with which 3 were against the worst teams in Michigan history) as some sort of achievement when they aren’t even .500 in the last 10 meetings in a series that aggies are trailing by 67-32-5.

but hey, enjoy the scUM degree (if you don’t drop out of course). At least you are doing one more thing right than the typical moo u fan seeing that you will be better off coming out of school than our lansing junior college brothers.

Most scUM alumni like to think of the academics as our best accomplishment.

@bearcats, check out 2B under “Multiple Team Tie” here: [Tiebreaking Procedures - BIG TEN CONFERENCE Official Athletic Site](http://www.bigten.org/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/100606aae.html)

Says that in the case of tied percentages, 2-0 is better than 1-0.

I think we can all agree that tiebreaking is complicated :]

The tie-breaker was solely determined by the records against Wisconsin. Michigan couldn’t do anything about that. It is a fairly arbitrary method when the B1G does not play a full double round robin.

2nd seed may be better than 1st when we see little brother knocked out in the semi’s by Indiana.

The top 5 teams in the Big 10 (MSU, OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana) are almost equal this year. As such, I do not think it matters whether a team is seeded 1, 2 or 3.

I hear you but, its just that Indiana is considered especially dangerous with the games 1 hour north of Bloomington. They also look hot again with recent decisive victories over MSU and Purdue. Playing in that venue, they could be considered the favorite.

Lately it seems like home advantage isn’t neccesarily that important.

Michigan and Indiana are extremely good home teams this year, nothing more and nothing less. Michigan State and Ohio State will be making noise in the NCAA tournament this year while Indiana and Michigan will most likely flame out in the 2nd round since they’re not playing in Crisler or Assembly Hall. OSU and MSU are a clear step above Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana.

a clear step above and we split with both. OK.

North Carolina whipped Duke. It was a good weekend. :-)
