^dont bother him, hes the idiot that said cornell was easy and they let mentally challenged people in

Obviously, you should get on being an a$$hole like MYSOJ1230

Please lock/delete this thread if possible in my opinion. Not only has it turned into a flame war, but much constructive criticism is gone. To the Original Poster: it never hurts to just apply, so go for it. Maybe you have that unique aspect that is looked for. Remember to focus on your individuality in your essays, and get amazing recs. My hat goes off to you and I wish you good luck. For the other Cornellies: do not get so offended...when he said "applying for the heck of it", he was actually commending Cornell on not being so easy to get into. To those who gave constructive advice, I commend you. For you others who flat out rejected him and then flamed him or other posters...this is not what the forums are for. I for one am offended at this. This is probably the first time I've seen a conversation go this way with people on these forums. Other gaming forums, this occurs all the time. But here...come on... If I was a moderator, I personally would've dished out about 6 warnings in this thread alone...

@MYSOJ1230 - I understand why you were mad about the way the responses were going. Frankly I was too, but the way you stated it was unacceptable. You come onto the Cornell forums slandering the school and then the people? Not only that, you call the school practically retarted with retarted people in it? Not even this, but your language is completely vulgar. I dare say you have not quite presented yourself in a fashionable manner. I do not understand what you attempted to achieve in the manner of your response.

thanks mom.......hehehe

jk

lol =). Just needed to point that out. I don't like it when people get like this =/ Oh, and I'm male, so it's dad! >:O

I just want to say, that the Cornell forum people aren't NEARLY as mean as the Harvard forum people. I posted there more as a "what the heck," but they were downright nasty and made me feel like crap.

Everything in here is fine. Herostar, no need to get it locked.

They are just bitter because they suck at hockey. I wouldn't hold it against them.

The Cornell and Harvard people's meanness pales in comparisson to that of the Penn people (see: muerteapablo).

haha i think muerteapablo was a kid who transferred from cornell a&s to penn a&s for prestige... what a loser

^^ smart**

@ what Acceptd said:
Shoot me NOW.
(which I meant figuratively rather than literally, for all you easily offended/paranoid peeps :))

haha.. what?

I say go for it. I came from a public school that offered only one AP class and my sat scores were no where near the "average". I got accepted as a guaranteed transfer. You're extracurriculars are fantastic and you seem well rounded. just work on that GPA!

Well my bad. I'm pretty blunt with most things. If you guys are going to be **bags to a kid who wants to apply then I think someone should tell you that you're being a **bag right?

And it's "Retarded." Not "retarted."

mysoj1230 gave a pretty accure representation of cornell and the majority of its student body. props.

the rest of you, keep shooting for the stars.

"And it's 'Retarded.' Not 'retarted.' "

Hm...I thought I caught all my typos. Meh, thanks lol.

@imsodrunkrightno - why do you guys even post here if you're just going to flame. you know what, I'm not even going to bother...

what am i flaming? i go to cornell. i'm pretty sure he does as well. many kids here don't like it because of the prevailing frat house culture. that's something a prospective applicant should know right?

low reach at best, ivies are pretty arbitrary thought, if u write a great essay then you have a shot

@herostar:

Don't feed the trolls.

afitscher, I'm not trying to be rude, just curious - why do do that on almost every chance thread? make a quick comment and then ask to be chanced back? I don't get the point of random HS students "chancing" each other, it doesn't make sense....if you're capable of determining another person's chances, even if it's just an educated guess, then you're also capable of making a guess about your own chances. so what's the point? you scratch his back, he scratches your back, no one feels itchy?
