anyone have any advices?

Have you visited Stanford?

My advice is to focus on the opportunity you have in hand. As much as I love Harvard, I gotta say that getting in of the waitlist is the longest of long shots.

Stanford is a wonderful school. There are thousands who would do almost anything to be in your place. So leave your name on the H waitlist if you like. Send them one more letter affirming your interest, but then basically put it out of your mind and move on. Start planning and dreaming of the great time you are going to have in California.

And if by some miracle you come off the waitlist, well then you can shift gears back to thinking about Harvard. It's all good.

By all means, you got into Stanford!! Why be sad?!
College experience is what you make of it (quoting everyone). So no matter where you go, I'm sure you'll do well if you try!

what are the statistics of harvard's waitlist?

same situation.

poor baby, wah wah i ONLY got accepted to STANFORD

quit being sarcastic man.

harvard was my #1

as was many......but there not complaining.

As a quick note, if u wanted to elicit more sympathy, u shouldn't have said u got into Stanford. Moving on, I've heard Harvard is notorious for waitlisting a bunch of applicants, but I guess u can pursue the waitlist if you want it that badly. Just update them with grades, honors/awards, recs.

I got waitlisted too. Didn't apply to Stanford. Can't afford any of the rich east coast LACs I was accepted to, so I'll be hangin' with the homies at UCSD for the next few years; a situation I had vowed never to find myself in. But it's cool. There's not much chance of reversing the waitlist decision, and Stanford's a bon diggity institution. IMO, go with it, dude.

when do they notify you if you go off their waitlist?

if you dont get off the waitlist, they never notify you right?
