I was accepted early, and my grades have dropped in 2 classes (AP calc and advanced physics) at the end of this year. It wasn't senioritis, I was able to keep my grades up in my other classes, I just had a hard time with these two. I don't know what my final grades will be yet, but I know not very good. In calc I got an A+ first quarter, an A second, and this third quarter might bring my year-end average down to a B+ or even B. The same in physics, except I got 2 As. I know that Duke will only see my end of the year averages in the final report, but will they take notice of these 2 drops and have some kind of consequence? thanks.

No, the admissions office has better things to do than reevaluate the apps of all the (probably many) students who got a B in a class. Didn’t it say on the letter they don’t care unless your average drops below a C? That’s what the letter said for me 2 years ago.

I called them a week ago telling them i might go from straight A’s
to

4 A’s, 2 B’s , 1 C

She told me it was probably fine, as long as I’m not getting D’s

oh ok, phew! thanks guys

^^ Well I do remember the letter specifically saying no Cs but at the end of the day it’s your choice I guess.
