hey guys, i am worried to death right now.

my final semester grades were 3 A's, 3 B's 1 C and 1 D

the D was through very questionable circumstances

my final year grades were 3 A's, 3 B's, and 2 C's

do you think Duke will revoke my admission?

they probably won't see the final semester grades, but they said that having C's as a final grade, they are going to review your like profile or what not

do u think that 2 C's will put me in jeopardy?

What's the difference between final semester and final year grades? The D would definitely be a problem i would imagine, two C's will probably slide. Haha bad case of senioritis?

Final semester just means the second half of senior year and not the whole year. I think colleges only see the first semester and final year grades, but not the second semester alone.

I don't think you will be revoked, but it certainly wasn't very smart to get yourself into this position.

DC09: Transcripts often break grades down by semester. Certainly your transcript at Duke does.

I mean the transcripts at my school is that it just shows the final, final grade not any semseter grades.

Huh. Weird. Anyway, it depends on what Ill's school does, and I suspect it's probably a semester system.

should i be worried, I think I only got one C this last semester, but might have two. I am worrying a little because I know Duke "reviews" any applicants with grades of C or below. But then again, last year I received two C's in my final semester and they admitted me knowing that, so it's not like i'm failing to meet their expectations of my academic ability, right?

Hahah - isn't the phrase "consistent" academic performance? In that case, Rahaz, I think you're fine.

the circumstances of the D were as follows:
last quarter we had to take AP and IB exams. so, we missed a lot of days. now most teachers didnt do anything in those days

but spanish, she handed out a number of assignments. we got back from exams, we had one week of school left and then finals, which we were exempt from. she told us that we could turn the makeup work in by the end of exam week. well, i went to turn it in, she refused to take it and started screaming at me and gave me a 66 for the quarter. i don't know what i did wrong, i just followed her directions. i'm thinking of writing to my guidance counselor and telling her about it so she can put a note down.

man why do spanish teachers always suck.... at least a 66 is a D for you... for me that would be an F

ahh tell me about it. Spanish has been my worst nightmare for the past few years.

and thank you all very much for your help.

however, my parents spoke to the school and as it turned out, the teacher didn't really give me a F for the quarter. she said that she wanted me to think I had received an F just so I would "not repeat such behavior in the future". i don't understand her logic at all but thank God she gave me a C for the quarter, C for the semester and B for the year.

even better though, my school's transcript is only for year grades, so in the end I ended up with 3 A's, 4 B's and a C.

well yeah, one thing that you should always remember for college is that school work comes before AP tests :P

I'm glad that things turned out to be in your favor!
